What we do?
01Houston Cyber Summit
The organization will host the annual Cyber Summit in Houston, Texas, previously managed by Blue Lance for six years. This in-person seminar offers six Continuing Education Units or Continuing Professional Education Credits per day and is open to the public. Organized by Cyber Houston’s staff, the summit features cybersecurity experts as speakers. About 70% of the organization’s efforts will be dedicated to this event, which is funded by corporate sponsorships and ticket sales. The summit aligns with the organization’s tax-exempt educational purpose by educating the public on cybersecurity and fostering collaboration among experts.
02Information Sessions
The organization will host monthly in-person and biweekly virtual informational sessions in Houston, Texas, to educate businesses and individuals on cybersecurity issues. These sessions will be conducted by the organization’s board of directors, officers, and volunteers and will take up around 10% of the organization’s time. They will be funded by sponsorships and donations and will be free to attend. The aim is to directly educate the public on cybersecurity matters, aligning with the organization’s tax-exempt educational purpose.
03Research and Publication of Research
Cyber Houston actively convenes Houston-area businesses to address key cybersecurity issues facing the region, fostering collaboration and collective action.
04Scholarship Program
Cyber Houston provides guidance and tools to help businesses understand how cybersecurity applies to their industries and offers practical strategies for cybersecurity preparedness.
